About this activity

We make it easy to see it all in one day! Relax on the coach as the driver guide narrates while you enjoy the beauty of Turnagain Arm. On the cruise get ready to view one of the largest concentration of glaciers in Alaska. Weather, ice conditions and wildlife activity changes daily and our captains may adjust the route to provide the best cruise experience while keeping your safety and comfort a top priority. We take pride in ensuring that your time with us is an enjoyable memory that becomes a favorite highlight of your Alaska vacation. We operate first-class catamarans. Due to their dual hull design, these powerful high-speed catamarans are extremely stable and able to smoothly navigate through the narrow fjords and passages that lead us to the face of massive glaciers. By operating safely and efficiently, Phillips provides a comfortable cruise and our No Seasickness Guarantee assures nervous cruisers the confidence that they will enjoy our cruise without any unpleasant effects.

Train and Boat

I had an extra day in Anchorage, so decided to book this cruise and I’m glad I did! I took the train to Whittier and then boarded the ship for the cruise. We saw sea lions, harbor seals, kittiwakes, and watched the glaciers calving. Lunch was served onboard, I had the salmon chowder and it was delicious. Wear warm clothing, because you will want to spend some time on deck. Binoculars help to see the wildlife more closely. If you’re taking the train back to Anchorage, you will probably have some extra time after the cruise. There are a few shops and restaurants in Whittier to explore, but some of them were closed during my visit. You have the option of driving yourself to Whittier, taking the coach, or riding the train. I’m really happy that I took the train. We had a narrator to tell us about the area, and a wonderful view of Cook Inlet. The train stopped for us to see the Dall sheep, the bore tide, and the surfers out on the water.

Definitely recommend for glacier viewing

Must watch. Weather was rough but these catamaran boats were very smooth. It felt more like a road trip. Took us to glaciers up close and guide was very knowledgeable. Very friendly staff.

worth it!

We started our trip by taking a bus from downtown anchorage to the port. The scenic route was great and the coach driver was very friendly. He told us some interesting stories and brought us to a stop where the glacier mountains views and fall colors were so amazing. For the cruise, I like that they have a ranger on board to explain the natures and things and the captain of the cruise was so transparent about the routes and what to expect. The captain even parked the boat on both sides so that both sides can take good pictures of the glaciers. During the 5 hours cruise, I saw very different sceneries and wildlife from blue skies/summer weather to glaciers and icebergs/cold weather. just awesome and educational. All crews were very friendly. Highly recommend!

Fun day out

A five hour boat trip around the Prince William sound was amazing. There was great scenery and wildlife. Great commentary from the ranger on board. Lunch was fine. There are bathrooms on the bus and boat. The bus driver gave a non stop commentary the whole drive.
